  • While some people try to shrink their time in the kitchen to minimum, others take cooking as leisure activity, relaxing time for their brain with no need to hurry. No matter whether you belong to the former or the latter, to ensure you enjoy cooking as much as possible, we would like to provide you with some useful tips to make your work easier, as well as recommendations what to do if your brain takes too much rest and something goes wrong. Indeed, we believe that some of these tried and tested tips will make your kitchen time more enjoyable and perhaps also have positive effect of your culinary outcomes.

Do not be desperate if something goes wrong
Sometimes the outcome might turn out to be somewhat different than you would have liked. Nevertheless, remember that even reputed chefs might season the soup with a pinch of salt too much. If you happen to do so, just put one raw potato in the soup – it will soak the salt and your soup or sauce will be remedied.

    Peeling
Potatoes – not raw but boiled in skin – will peel better if poured over with cold water after boiling. When peeling garlic, try squeezing the garlic using the flat surface of the knife blade. As for boiled eggs, they will peel better if you add some vinegar in the water before boiling them. And there is an extra trick for eggs: glass peeling. Put the boiled egg in a preserving jar containing some water. Shake for some time – the egg shell will break but getting together with the top film inside, it will get easily off the egg.

    Schnitzel frying
Are you going to coat steaks in the classical breading (flour, egg, bread crumbs)? Try adding some water to the egg – it will whip better. Or you can also pour some beer and oil to the egg which will enhance the final taste. Before frying remember to dry the meat using for example paper towels. If you happen to burn one or two pieces and the room will smell burnt, place some bread over the room and they will soak the odour.

    Unknown use of salt
Essential for seasoning, salt is also a useful helper. Should your clothes, carpet or wood block become stained with red wine, put some salt on it as soon as possible – it will take the red pigment out. Moreover, nuts will get rid of their bitterish taste when put in salty water. And if you add some salt in beaten egg whites, the mixture will not reduce when beaten.
