The upcoming weekend 20‑21 September will host a unique event celebrating one of humankind staples. Organized in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem Municipality in Eden Centre, the already second year of the Potato Feast offers a very attractive programme, including first of all cooking shows featuring potato and traditional recipes of the Vysočina Region, as well as lectures of experts from Potato Research Institute or presentation of top regional producers’ harvests. Moreover, the event will also offer its participants the possibility of buying dozens of species of freshly harvested potatoes and taste a rich selection of potato specialties, including original potato “tartar”, potato cake with apples, farmer fries or sweet potato meals for children. Besides, the latter can look forward to a variety of entertainment possibilities, such as craft market with historical blacksmith, jumping castle, mini zoo and a wide range of competitions. Adults will be able to enjoy expert lectures and workshops providing advice how to grow, buy or store potatoes. Besides, while participating in the feasts, you might also use the opportunity and visit the picturesque Pernštejn Castle, walk up to the Karasín Lookout Tower or see Aueršperk and Zubštejn ruins.
