  • Vitamin intake is necessary also in winter, mainly through consumption of various fruits and vegetables. Therefore we provide you with some tips for easy and delicious salads made of root vegetables, to be eaten not only in winter. Beetroot, very healthy yet neglected vegetable is an efficient cure for a number of disorders as well as against flu and cold. To prepare a tasty beetroot salad, use boiled beetroot, peeled and grated. Add two cloves of garlic for about half kilo of beetroot, grated horseradish, 2 tablespoon mayonnaise, 150 g plain yogurt and 4 tablespoon chopped walnuts. Another easy ready-in-15-minutes salad can be prepared out of carrots and garlic: use about 500 g grated carrot and 2-4 cloves of garlic. Press the garlic through the sieve and mix with carrot and 100 ml oil, juice from half of lemon, one tablespoon sugar, pinch of salt, coriander and clove (the last two ingredients can be omitted) and a pinch of ground pepper. Should you prefer seductively sweetish tasting salad, try celery salad with raisins: for one finely grated celery use one handful of raisins, 250 g sour cream, two teaspoon sugar, two teaspoon lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Let the mixed salad rest for at least one hour in the fridge before serving. Besides enjoying the meal you will do something for your health.
